CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) Service & Repair
A traditional automatic transmission uses a complex series of gears to transfer the engine’s power to the wheels. A CVT is a type of automatic transmission, but it has no gears at all. Instead, it uses a pulley and belt system to provide an unlimited range of gear ratios. Popular auto makers, such as Nissan, Toyota, Subaru, Chrysler and Honda, are introducing CVT’s to their model lineups to offer customers an option with improved acceleration and enhanced fuel economy.
CVT Common Problems
CVT’s are still relatively new to the market and can be very difficult and complicated to diagnose and repair. While CVT’s have fewer moving parts and are simpler in design, it is new technology and our technicians have completed extensive training specific to CVT’s and are well qualified to work with your vehicle.
Come common problems to look out for with your CVT include:
- Transmission ‘jerking’, slipping, grinding or jumping during acceleration when the car is shifting gears
- Noisy while driving – some customers have issues with a ‘whining’, ‘clanging’ or ‘rattling’ sound while driving especially with Nissan CVT’s
- Contaminated or low transmission fluid
- Check Engine Light On
- Gears changing at high RPM
My vehicle is showing at least one of these signs, what should I do?

What Customers Say About Mister Transmission
Great service, great people.
The staff was very pleasant and co-operative, allowing me to retrieve work equipment from vehicle after returning with a rental car). I was somewhat disappointed there was no courtesy car available for a repair that was estimated to take a minimum of 4 business days. When I returned on Wednesday July 17, 2019, to pick up my vehicle after receiving the phone call, the staff notice my car was rolling slightly when in park. Store manager (I assume) provided me his truck to allow me to handle my travelling service calls while they attempted some adjustments to correct the issue, as I had already returned my rental car after paying the service invoice and transferring my work equipment back to my car.
Awesome job, I'll be back for my oil changes from now on.

fast, friendly, honest service.
I have come to trust the owners of this location. I have referred many many people to THIS location. They know me. They charge a reasonable amount to fix my vehicle. The two owners are perhaps the friendliest guys I have ever taken my vehicle to. Did I mention that I trust them?
