FORD TRANSMISSION SERVICE & REPAIR in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Ford has been an active player in the evolution of transmission technology and has introduced new technology to its vehicle lineup. For example, the PowerShift6-speed Automatic was introduced in 2011 and has a dual-clutch design, making the driving experience feel more similar to that of a manual transmission. The PowerShift Technology was designed to give customers a smoother driving experience with better fuel efficiency and is common in Ford Focus and Fiesta models from 2011-2016.With the Ford F-Series trucks being the best-selling vehicle in Canada for over 10 years, we have extensive experience working with the Ford transmission technology and are confident that we will diagnose and repair your Ford vehicle as quickly as possible, with a repair that will last.

Ford makes and models we often see experiencing transmission problems:

Ford F150 2003-2016
Ford Escape 2006-2016
Ford Explorer 2006-2016

Ford vehicles with a traditional automatic transmission use sensors to determine when it should shift gears, and changes them accordingly by using internal oil pressure.

Ford Manual Transmissions

A Manual transmission (AKA stick-shift, manual gearbox or a standard transmission) is a type of transmission in which the driver is responsible for shifting gears by using the clutch and gas pedals.

Ford CVT Transmissions

Many of the newer Ford vehicles have a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) option available to provide customers with improved acceleration and enhanced fuel economy

Thomas Hein

We had a great experience with Mister Transmission. They rebuilt a transmission for one of our trucks, and everything went very smoothly. They took the time to explain what was broken, what needed to be done, and what to expect. They had the truck finished faster than we expected, and the truck runs great now. We also had another transmission rebuilt by them last year, and it has been holding up great as well. Great service, good communication, and quality work. We would definitely use Mister Transmission again and would recommend them to others!

Tara McLauchlan

We’ve been taking our Promaster campervan to this location for years. Their service has always been fast, friendly and fair. They’ve been able to repair anything we’ve asked of them. We recently took our van on a cross Canada road trip, we ended up having issues with our transmission just outside of Ottawa. Phil from Mr Transmission Winnipeg, was able to communicate with the location in Ottawa to honour the nation wide warranty. Even though we were 6000 kms over our warranty, Phil covered all the repairs under warranty and was checking in to make sure we got back on the road safely.

My 2016 Dodge Journey would...

Liz Gosselin

My 2016 Dodge Journey would not pick up speed without revving at a really high rpm. Transmission was slipping and revved hard in reverse. Took it in to Mister Transmission on Portage Ave knowing I most likely needed a new transmission. Got them to check and yes I needed one. They gave me the money back for the diagnostic and I paid for the new transmission. They also provided me with a courtesy car for 5 days. They did the work so quick and made sure my car was fixed properly. My car runs like a brand new vehicle. It picks up speed, rpm is good, and doesnt shake in reverse anymore. Special thanks to Phil and the team for repairing my car and getting it back to working order. They also have a good warrenty on the new transmission. Completely worth the money. Thanks guys.
