The reason I would NOT recommend Mister Transmission is that the store manager/service rep. was misleading in what he stated/promised. I explicitly asked when inquiring about the matter when first contacting this location if a diagnosis of the issue is first conducted before any repairs are conducted. I was assured that a FREE diagnosis would first be conducted to determine what the problem/issue is and then would be informed of the estimated cost of the repair before conducting the repair. I could then decide how to proceed. This is precisely why I chose Mister Transmission. However, I was not contacted ahead of the service being conducted and instead received a call shortly after dropping off my car to inform me that the repair had been completed, which I later discovered was being billed at $114.13. It turns out, a squirrel had just placed a walnut in the shifter system of my vehicle which prevented me from shifting into drive. The manager stated he was surprised that the walnut had not fallen out during the towing of the vehicle to his location. It sounded like a very quick and easy matter to address, which required very little time and no parts. Thus, I also do not understand why a ENV fee would be applied. When I asked him how the transmission fluid looked, he had no answer as he had not checked the fluid, which I thought was also part of the free inspection. Thus, while I was happy that the issue was very minor and required no repairs or parts, I was disappointed by the bait and switch approach taken regarding the service. I of course would expect to pay some sort of fee for the service provided, but found the amount questionable and did not appreciate that I was not first informed of what the issue was and the cost to address it. On the positive side I did appreciate that the matter was addressed quickly.
