Transmission Maintenance & Service
Keep your car on the road with preventative transmission maintenance
Just as you have other parts of your car serviced, your transmission needs maintenance to ensure a long life and avoid transmission problems. Our transmission service consists of a complete multi-check inspection of your transmission’s performance and general operation. In some cases, additional diagnostic work (up to and including) removing, disassembling and inspecting the transmission will be required, which is over and above, our free multi check inspection. The centre manager will give you an estimate for any required work over and above the free multi check inspection.
Free Road Test and Multi-Check Inspection

Transmission Fluid Check
The fluid check indicates the first sign of possible wear and damage. A transmission in good condition will have a clear red fluid. If your fluid is discoloured or has unpleasant odour, this may be an indication of internal wear and damage which is occurring as you drive your vehicle. An unpleasant odour and discoloration, in combination with other symptoms, may require an internal inspection of your transmission.
The road test consists of two segments: a stationary test and driving test, which together comprise the most detailed portion of the Multi-Check. Every position of your transmission will be thoroughly tested for slipping, noises, harsh, soft or erratic shifting, as well as late or early shift patterns.
What’s Next After Your Free Road Test and Multi Check?
*Additional Charges may apply*
During the lift inspection our technician will check the following:
- Neutral Switch
- Engine RPM
- Throttle Linkage
- Transmission Mounts
- Fluid Retention
- Electronic Controls
This will determine if a minor adjustment will correct the problem of your transmission.
In all pans, there are some metal particles and friction material present. However, an excessive amount indicates internal wear and damage. If that is the case, and it is determined that a minor adjustment will not correct the problem, we will recommend Mister Transmission’s inspection service. This service will determine exactly what is wrong inside your transmission.
Your transmission is one of the most complex systems in your vehicle, with hundreds of precision parts operating together. Determining the problem and providing a price sometimes requires removing and even dismantling your transmission. Not only will we be able to determine the problem, we’ll also be able to determine the cause to prevent any future problems. Some of these services will require additional charges, which we will request you authorization prior to the work being performed.
Transmission Fluid Change Service
We also offer a transmission fluid change service to help ensure your transmission continues to operate at its best for years to come.

What Customers Say About Mister Transmission
Our Nissan SUV is in Kanata, ON at the shop. Service was completed today. We live in Sudbury, ON. We need to make arrangements now to get our Nissan back to Sudbury. We sure could use $1,000 win at this point in our lives with our expensive move to Ottawa coming up on June 17. We didn’t see the added expense of our transmission going on us at this time but we are thankful that it happened in Kanata near Mr. Transmission and our friend Donny @ AAA Kavtech Inc. & not on our way home somewhere with the floods/Hwy 17 closures that we encountered that day. We had no choice but to take the long scenic route through Algonquin Park! It has been quit the experience! Grace & Richard Longchamps Sudbury, ON
The staff was very open to solving my transmission leak directly without having to order new cables and the unit they are attached to which the dealer promotes.. Overall, lines were repaired professionally at a very reasonable rate and I was spared paying over 485.00 for new parts. Now thats service!
I thought the cost was high. Including tax $4,400.00 to rebuild a transmission. I was told $100.00 would be deducted from the bill by Ryan when I told him I thought the cost was very high. Didn't happen. Other than that the service was friendly and professional.
Beauty, thanks, great service.
Quick diagnosis of my transmission problem by the shop owner with straightforward options on how to resolve it. Worked with me to find a sensible solution that accounted for the vehicle's age and how much I was prepared to spend to keep it on the road. I appreciate the no pressure guidance I received and am comfortable with the repair decision I ultimately made. The repairs were done efficiently and exactly as described beforehand. My SUV hasn't performed with such get-up-and-go for a long time. Overall, I'm very satisfied with whole experience (I can't believe I such said that about a transmission repair!).
I think the service and the employees did an outstanding job. My rating of 8 is only based on my insecurity and wait and see attitude. So far the experience has been very good and at this time I would recommend Mister Transmission
Excellent customer service with Ryan on the front line. Curtis immediately assessed the issue on my first visit and was able to get an appt the next day to fix the problem, so very convenient. Friendly and professional. Great experience all round. Would not hesitate to recommend.
Curtis did a great job, explained what was wrong, estimated the cost accurately and had it done on time.
Very personable staff who worked hard to get my car fixed in a reasonable time.
