T. Lo
We took our rather aged vehicle (13 years and counting) here to be checked for transmission issues as our mechanic thought our vehicle issues might be the trannie. However, a thorough checkup, including but not limited to a drive by Mr. Transmission staff showed it is not the transmission at fault. They took it out on the road long enough to get several code readings (longer than our mechanic who could only generate one inconclusive code reading) that spell the demise of our vehicle (at 330,000 km & 13+ years, it has had a good run). They advised against putting $$ into the vehicle as they ran a few other tests that point towards a full-out failure of the engine as inevitable. Consider if you will that they did not charge us to check the vehicle and they in no way attempted to take advantage of us by trying to get us to make repairs that would be costly and fruitless. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with such honest folk. Not to diss mechanics and/or service technicians working elsewhere or any repair shops but too often these days, we have run into places where they tend to "create" issues that do not exist to further their business (or so it seems). It was refreshing to deal with good and decent folk even though the news about our vehicle was not as we had hoped. Thank you, Mr. Transmission in Owen Sound for your kindness, professionalism, empathy, and honesty. We had hoped to get a few more years out of our beastie but such is not to be and we thank you wholeheartedly for not trying to take advantage of us and in fact, for advising us against costly repairs that would not be worth the investment. We wish you every success.
