In my twenties, I didn’t want to just work for someone else.

Sure, I wanted to make more money, but was also determined to keep control of my future in my own hands. Even back then, the Mister Transmission brand was extremely well known and the cost of a franchise was quite affordable (still is). So I took the leap and started my business.

In the early days, I saw all the trees, but not the forest. Although I was working hard, it seemed the business was running me – not the other way around! But, once I’d learned my lesson and started working ‘on’my business, rather than just ‘at’ it, my franchise has continued to provide the satisfaction, income and flexibility needed to spend quality time with my family and close friends – and even a beautiful Nautilus 36 sailboat on which to do so!

Of course, it isn’t always smooth sailing; but managing a Mister Transmission franchise lets me set my own course every morning and provides access to all the business resources and support
I need to weather the squalls. After twenty-five years in business, I’ve reached and exceeded all my personal and professional goals.

Now I am Mister Transmission in my market and my community.

Mister transmission first opened for business October 1963 in Richmond Hill, Ontario. After growing to six locations through equity partnerships during the 1960's, franchising of the system fueled explosive growth in the following decade.
