Cheap Prices of Psychic Technicians

Nobody likes costly surprises when it comes to repairing their automobile, however, sometimes a technician just can’t give you an accurate price on a repair until he’s inspected the vehicle due to the complexity of modern vehicles. It’s understandable that most vehicle owners would want a set price before taking their vehicle into a transmission shop, but unless the technician on the phone is psychic, there is NO WAY they can give you an accurate price… period.

To put it in perspective, imagine if you called up a doctor and told him you had a pain in your abdomen. You’d want an appointment to have him give you a check up and run some tests right? What if he just said, “Abdominal pain? I can fix that for $50, come on down!” Not only would you not go to that doctor, you’d report him to the authorities because he’s obviously running some sort of scam.

Same goes for transmission repair. Today’s transmissions are more complex than the first lunar lander. They have more sensors, computing power, and higher tech materials. What do you think the odds are that the person on the phone, who gives you a price without even seeing your vehicle, will let you get out his door at the price quoted? I’d say you have more of a chance winning the lottery. It’s called “the old bait and switch”. They quote you a low price, much lower than they know any of their competitors would ever charge, to get you in the door. Then, once your vehicle is on their hoist and the transmission is completely disassembled, the bad news comes… your transmission failure is the worst one they’ve seen and will cost “a little more”.
